BEATRICE, Neb. - The Lady Orange bid to repeat as Class B state champions came to an end in the bottom of the seventh inning of the title game.

Grand Island Northwest knocked off Beatrice 4-3 in walk-off fashion after scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to score the win. The final run came on a fly ball by Northwest's Libby Loman off of Karrigan Henrichs.

Beatrice jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with an RBI double by Callie Schwisow and extended the lead in the third with a bloop run-scoring single by Karrigan Henrichs. Northwest would get on the board in the bottom of the third with a solo homer in the bottom of the third.

Beatrice would extend the lead to 3-1 in the fourth on an RBI double by Layla Boyko, but a Becca Dinkelman RBI single in the bottom of the fifth pulled Northwest with in one, before scoring two in the bottom of the seventh.

With the loss Beatrice finishes the season 32-5, while Northwest wins their third title in the last four years.
