Paul M. Golden, age 41, formerly Nebr. City
Paul Golden
Paul Michael Golden, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 41.
Paul was a 2003 graduate of Nebraska City High School and went on to earn his degree in Information Systems from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He built a career as a Senior Quality Engineer at Team Software, where he worked for 13 years and was known for his analytical mind and dedication to his work. He had a natural ability to bring structure to complex situations, thoughtfully examining details and asking the right questions to ensure the best outcomes. His logical thinking, curiosity, and commitment to understanding the “why” behind things made him both respected and valued in his profession.
He was united in marriage to Tara Marie Zech on July 26, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church by Paul, NE and to this union two children were born: Seth and Brooke. Paul was a devoted father, son, brother, and uncle whose life was centered around his family, especially his two children, Brooke and Seth, who were the greatest joys of his life. He was their biggest supporter, traveling countless miles to watch Brooke play volleyball and to cheer on Seth in basketball and football. When they needed him, he was there. Steadfast, present, and proud.
He found deep happiness in time spent with family at the farm in Nebraska City, where some of the most meaningful memories were made. Whether it was riding four-wheelers through the countryside, fishing, or sharing stories, those moments reflected what mattered most to him. He also cherished annual trips to Branson, Missouri, where he enjoyed passing along beloved childhood traditions to his children and family.
He is survived by his children, Brooke Golden and Seth Golden; his parents, John and Elaine Golden; his sister, Anne (Golden) Ziola and brother-in-law, Ryan Ziola; and his nephew, Bennett Ziola. He is also survived by extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, David Lee; his brother, Stephen John; and his grandparents, John and Evelyn Schnitzer and Bill and Freda Golden; along with several aunts and uncles.
Paul will be remembered for his unwavering love for his children, his thoughtful and analytical nature, and the quiet, steady way he showed up for the people he loved.
