Lonnie Dean Kearns, age 74, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lonnie was born on June 26, 1951, in Inglewood, California. He spent most of his life in Concordia, Kansas, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and simple joys. In Concordia, he met the love of his life, Sally A. Kearns. The two were married and shared many years together. Through their marriage, Lonnie welcomed and raised four children, Jeff, Page, Misty, and Wanda - together they later welcomed their son, Shawn Kearns.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Sally Kearns; his son, Shawn Kearns (wife Raina); and his stepdaughters, Page Lewis; Misty Johnson (husband Jarrod); and Wanda Flenker (wife Ande). Lonnie is also survived by his niece, Christine Ward, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren through his children and stepchildren, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Kearns and Morris Kearns, his sister, Norma Kearns-Ward and Step-son Jeff Walker and daughter in law Leslie Walker.

Lonnie was proud of his family and of his Native American heritage. He loved his loyal dog, Marley, who was never far from his side, his old International pickup trucks, and collecting eagle and Native American memorabilia with his wife, Sally. He enjoyed working on cars, watching westerns, learning about history, and playing pranks or telling jokes. A simple man at heart, Lonnie appreciated the quiet moments in life and spent many of them alongside his wife. He will be remembered for his steady presence, love for his family, and the humble life he lived.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
