BEATRICE – Gage County could soon get some federal financial support, based on action at the Congressional level.

At a short supervisors meeting on Wednesday, Board member Emily Haxby said the county could hear this month about allocation of federal support for some major road and public safety projects.

"That funding is now in front of the House. It'll be in front of the House this week, in front of the Senate next week. Hopefully, by the end of January, we will have very good news on Hickory Road and the Adams Bypass....and the Clatonia Fire Hall."

Gage County Supervisors Wednesday approved declaring as surplus, some older sheriff’s handguns to be auctioned through a Kearney company….and set February 18th as the date to open bids for rock and gravel and for fuel supplies.

Following a public hearing, the county board approved a manager application of Brooke Rohr, for the liquor license held at Hidden Acres Golf Course, southwest of Beatrice.
