BEATRICE, Neb. - A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning sent one man to the hospital after a Volkswagen SUV ran a stop sign.

Just before 7:00 a.m. deputies responded to Sixth Street and Highway 77 in Cortland.

Gage County Sheriff's deputies say a 16-year-old driver failed to stop at a stop sign on sixth street in and collided with a southbound GMC Yukon driven by Dylan Bowland of Auburn. Bowland was heading southbound on Highway 77. Bowland swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash, but his vehicle was struck, spun, and rolled several times.

According to deputies Bowland, was not wearing a seatbelt and admitted to speeding, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by EMS to Bryan West Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

The teen driver was uninjured and cited for failure to yield and a stop sign violation.
