Minden rolls to Tuesday night sweep of Beatrice

MINDEN, Neb. - Minden went two for two on Tuesday night, topping Beatrice in the boys-girls hoops double header. 

On the girls side, the Whippets topped the Lady Orange 53-32 while the Orangemen fell to Minden 59-40. 

Myla Emery led the Whippets girls squad with 19 points, followed by Makenna Starkey with 11. Beatrice struggled to shoot the three, going 5/27 from downtown and committed 18 turnovers in the loss. The Lady Orange failed to get a player into double figure scoring, as Callie Schwisow led Beatrice with eight. Minden improves to 9-0, while Beatrice falls to 7-2. 

Meanwhile, Minden's boys squad pulled away in the second half to dominate the Orangemen. Brett Eckhardt and Landon Bules led Minden with 14, while sophomore post Harrison Vetrovsky scored a game high 15 for Beatrice. Minden improves to 4-5 on the year, while Beatrice falls to 2-7. 

Minden visits Valentine on Friday, while Beatrice hosts Seward on Thursday
