Election 2024: Initial results from Southeast Nebraska

We're compiling all the early results from the 2024 Election across Southeast Nebraska. These lists and links will be updated if further information becomes available.
A lot to keep track of here in Southeast Nebraska as results started to trickle in after 11 PM in all of the counties in our area. Here’s our best summary at some key races in the different counties.
The big news locally in Jefferson County: there will be a new Mayor of Fairbury. Challenger Kelly Davis defeated incumbent Spencer Brown in the Fairbury mayoral race that was decided at about 11 PM Tuesday night – Davis earned almost exactly two times as many votes as Brown did to snag that job. Charley Endorf won the race to take over the City Council seat that Davis was going to vacate win or lose; incumbent Brad Kuzelka held on to his council seat, John Ebke ran for reelection unopposed, and Jamie McDaniel won the ward four council seat, which had the highest voter turnout of the four. In total Jefferson County reported 3,700 ballots cast.
Not much drama at all in Fillmore County: nearly every major race featured only one true candidate. In Shickley there was a very slight vote in favor of a new sales tax, though there were fewer than 200 votes reported there. Interestingly, that total number remained unchanged after about 9:30 or so, so not much drama there either. And many thanks to the Fillmore County staff for keeping those results updated throughout the night, that was much appreciated.
Just under 3,000 votes reported in Thayer County, which saw comfortable wins for Marlin Bauhard in his county commissioner reelection campaign, and for Rob Schafer in his bid for the spot on the board of regents. You may not think the Bruning School Board is that compelling of a race, but the clerks physically wrote in “still reviewing write-ins" on the results document that was submitted late Tuesday night – so a race to watch there still.
And we knew that Saline County would take a while to sort out – their officials reported on Monday that they would not trickle out any information before all the ballots were reviewed. It makes sense that it might take them a while – they reported more than 5,700 total ballots cast including more than 1,000 early ballots, both by far the most of these four counties. Ray Rohrig won the only commissioner race that was contested; Russ Karpisek and Brian Pribyl ran unopposed. Voters in the town of Friend were faced with a pair of ballot initiatives – a building bond and a sales tax, both of which would help to fund a building to jointly house the local fire and EMT crews – they're in separate units now with little room to operate. Both of those measures passed, though neither were by huge margins.
