Fairbury requesting water conservation due to lack of precipitation

The city of Fairbury is requesting residents to conserve water usage, due to lack of precipitation.

FAIRBURY, Neb. -- The City of Fairbury is requesting residents to conserve water usage, due to lack of precipitation. 

This request is due to lack of precipitation and high temperatures in southeast Nebraska.

According to 51.48 (C) (3) of the Municipal Code, residential water usage will be regulated with:

Addresses ending in even numbers are to limit outdoor water usage, including watering lawns, washing vehicles, etc. to even calendar days. 

Addresses ending in odd numbers are to limit their outdoor water usage, including watering lawns, washing vehicles, etc. to odd calendar days.

The situation will be reviewed by city staff on a regular basis and the request will remain in effect until further notice. 

The city of Fairbury appreciates the understanding and cooperation of residents and will continue to keep the public updated through media and the city’s website.
