BEATRICE – Police arrested a man after being called to a discount store to investigate a disturbance, Sunday.

Beatrice Police were sent to the Walmart store along U.S. Highway 77 and spoke with three alleged victims, one who had been struck in the face.  One of the victims told police a man confronted her near the rear of the store, making threats toward the group of three people she was a part of.

Police said the suspect chased one of the victims through the store….and one of the victim’s asked if an employee could escort them outside.  Police said the suspect threw punches two of the three as they were standing by a cash register. A male sustained a cut lip…another had an injury to the left side of her face and red marks on a forearm.  A victim who is eleven-years-old, was not injured. 

Police said store video surveillance showed the assault and the suspect…and showed more than 20 people who witnessed the incident.

Police arrested 26-year-old Christian Hatfield on suspicion of making terroristic threats, two counts of third-degree assault, child abuse and disturbing the peace.
