Marysville starts tourism season with Museum Day
MARYSVILLE, Ks. -- Marysville kicks off its tourism season this weekend with Museum Day in northern Kansas.
The town has seven participating museums including the Pony Express Barn and Museum, the Marshall County Historic Courthouse, and more.
Starting at 10 a.m. and going to 4 p.m., the museums have free admission and prizes.
The event has been running for more than five years and kicks off the tourism season in Marysville.
Wayne Kruse, Executive Director of Marysville Convention and Tourism, said this event tells the story of Marysville.
“Well, there are seven diverse museums,” Kruse said. “So, you can learn everything from the Pony Express history to, this year, we have the Hermannsburg School Museum as part of this. So that’s a school in the country that tells its story of how it started as a one room school and grew to a two room school. There is a lot to do and a lot to see.”
The next event in the tourism season is Mothers Day Market, in the second weekend of May.
