FAIRBURY, Neb. -- The city of Fairbury will host a five-week program for new entrepreneurs and current small businesses, on Thursday, March 7.

The city will work with Grow Nebraska to run the program, which is called the Business Blueprint Series. The sessions will provide instruction on marketing strategies, legalities of small businesses, business plans and grant/funding opportunities that may become available.

The program is funded by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the Small Business Administration and Grow Nebraska who are helped by the Small Business Assistance Act.

“It is just a great opportunity for small businesses to, kind of, just get started and get some information and some direction on where they need to go,” Fairbury's Development Services Director, Laura Bedlan, said. “It provides support for local small businesses and, also, if you either live or have a business in the QCT, it will also provide a stipend of $250 if you attend all of the classes.”

Local business owners and entrepreneurs can sign up through the city's website. There are only a few seats remaining, according to Bedlan.

The course is also available on other dates, including March 14 and March 21. There is no charge for registration.
