BEATRICE, NEB. - The MUDECAS Basketball Tournament will not crown a champion in 2024.

Per Tournament Director, Adrian Allen, Superintendent of Sterling Public Schools, while several teams did want to participate, others did not with concern of safety as winter weather conditions persist in southeast Nebraska with high winds, below zero temperatures, and low visibility expected throughout the weekend.

This is just the second time in the events history where the tournament has not crowned a champion. The last time came in 2019, when boys title games were not played.
