Teens arrested by LPD, NSP following pursuit in Lincoln
Two teens were arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol and Lincoln Police Department after a Wednesday night pursuit in Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two teens were arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol and Lincoln Police Department after a Wednesday night pursuit in Lincoln.
Around 9:25 p.m., LPD said that police were dispatched to a home near 87th and Lavender Circle for a mailbox that was reportedly vandalized.
Officers said that they spoke with a 76-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman who reported that their vehicle had been stolen.
It was reported to LPD that the vehicle had been parked in the driveway, unlocked with the key fob inside.
LPD said it appeared that the vehicle had been taken from the driveway, hitting the mailbox causing $500 in damage.
According to officers, they worked with Star Link, the vehicle's location service, and they were able to find the vehicle near Second and W Furnas.
LPD said that an officer tried to stop the vehicle, but when the vehicle fled, they did not pursue it.
The NSP said they had gotten a report of a stolen vehicle fleeing the LPD near First St. and Cornhusker around 10:50 p.m.
A trooper reportedly found and saw it driving recklessly.
Authorities said that the trooper tried to do a traffic stop near Second St. and Furnas St., but the driver refused to stop.
NSP said the vehicle then fled through a dead-end road and into a field, at which point the trooper stopped pursuing.
Around 11:30 p.m., LPD said they were able to track the vehicle to an area in northeast Lincoln.
The vehicle was then found near 56th and Fletcher by a trooper, and the trooper tried to do another traffic stop.
Officials said that the driver again fled, and the trooper initiated a pursuit.
NSP said that additional troopers were able to successfully deploy stop sticks near 56th and Alvo Road, stopping the vehicle.
After the vehicle came to a stop, the NSP said that the two teens then fled on foot.
Authorities said that an LPD officer deployed a TASER and was able to take the 16-year-old passenger into custody.
Officials said that the 16-year-old male kicked an officer, and later spat on a trooper's face as well as kicked and bit the trooper.
Troopers said they were able to take the 15-year-old male driver into custody without further incident.
The driver was lodged at the Youth Attention Center for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, theft by unlawful taking - more than $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, and no operator's license. LPD said he was cited and released.
The passenger was lodged at the Youth Attention Center for assault on an officer, theft by unlawful take - more than $5,000, assault on a public safety officer with bodily fluids, obstructing a peace officer, and resisting arrest.
