Three fall sports standouts honored by Beatrice Board of Education

BEATRICE - The Beatrice Board of Education honored three top athletes in fall sports this year.   Avery Barnard was recognized as a first-team all-state selection in softball and Riley Schwisow was recognized as a second-team all-state squad member in softball.   Barnard was unable to attend Monday night’s board meeting.

Kiera Paquette was honored for her all-state season with the Beatrice Lady Orange golf team….which included a sixth place individual finish in the State Class-B tournament.       

The district honored as the Business Friend of the Month, Dr. Mike and Amy Southwick…owners of Southwick Chiropractic….for aiding staff with meal availability during the day and activities for coping with stress….though wellness webinars.

The district’s employee of the month of November is Beatrice High School Theatre and Communications Instructor Emily Brumond.  She conducts one-act play and speech practice and leads the drama club, in addition to her daily teaching duties.
