Sheriff’s Offices jokingly warn of Grinch, offer holiday travel safety advice
Nebraska law enforcement agencies are issuing tongue-in-cheek warnings about a suspicious green character.

WILBER, NE — Nebraska law enforcement agencies are issuing tongue-in-cheek warnings about a suspicious green character.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office issued a mock news release saying deputies and a K-9 unit responded to reports of “an individual attempting to silence Saline County’s holiday cheer once and for all.” A social media video shows the Grinch being placed in custody with the help of a K-9 named Max, the same name as the Grinch’s dog in the holiday story.
The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office published a poster saying the Grinch is wanted for stealing Christmas gifts. The deputies advised that the suspect is “petrified of our holiday spirit, so tell your kiddos to lay it on thick.”
In addition to the light-hearted Grinch antics, the agencies offered holiday travel tips like planning ahead for traffic, buckling up, preparing a cold weather emergency kit and not driving under the influence.
