Jacquelyn "Jackie" J. Stake, 88, of Beatrice died on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2025, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Society of Beatrice. She was born on December 26, 1936 on a farm between Liberty and Burchard to William H. and E. Irene Morris. The family lived on the farm until they moved to Lewiston, where she entered 4th grade and continued her schooling. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953. After graduation she began working at the ASCS office in Beatrice and continued there until 1969.

On September 25, 1955, she married Marvin Stake, and they made their home on the farm north of Burchard. To this union, two sons were born, Terry Lee in 1956 and Tracy Lynn 1958. In September of 1972 Jackie began employment at First National Bank and Trust in Beatrice. and worked there until April of 2002. In 1989 Marvin and Jackie moved to Beatrice and lived there until Marvin's accident in 2010.

Jackie was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Vesper Chapter #9, Order of the Eastern Star of Beatrice and the American Legion Auxiliary of Burchard, she held 50-year memberships in all three organizations. She was also Beatrice Bloodmobile volunteer for many years.

During the 55 years Marvin and Jackie were married they enjoyed belonging to Sesostris Shrine in Lincoln, Blue Valley Shrine Club in Beatrice and the Sesostris Mustang Club with their 1968 Mustang GT convertible, travel with Sesostris activities, many friends and family took Marvin and Jackie to 49 of the 50 states.

Jackie is survived by two sons, Terry and wife, Dawn and Tracy and wife, Julia; four grandchildren, Adam Stake, Alexis Ohrstrom and husband, Nick, Olivia Kite and husband, Tommy and Rachael Stake; great-granddaughter, Elin Ohrstrom and great-grandson, Axel Kite; sister, Loa Jurgens and husband, Don; brother, Butch Morris; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. Jackie was preceded in death by husband, Marvin in 2010; her parents, Wm and E. Irene Searcey Morris; parents-in-law, Harold and Delpha Anderson Stake.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Paixao Baptista officiating. Interment will be in the Burchard Cemetery of Burchard at 1:30 P.M. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. in the church library on Wednes

 

day. The body will lie in state on Tuesday from noon until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice for future designation. www.foxfuneralhome.net  Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.
