She attended Barneston High School, where she was involved in many activities, including volleyball, where she excelled and earned All-State honors.
Joyce met the love of her life, Roger Pollman when they were both teenagers. The two were married on October 18, 1953, and shared more than 70 beautiful years together. Throughout their life, Joyce’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident as she embraced her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A dedicated homemaker and farm wife, Joyce’s family always came first. She loved attending the many events of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed the many summers she spent boating and camping with her family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.
Joyce was an active member of her community, serving in organizations such as the Happy Homemakers Extension Club and the Barneston Legion Auxiliary. She was also a faithful member of the Immanuel "Stateline" Lutheran Church.
Over the years, Joyce enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, cooking, and sewing. Her family fondly remembers the delicious, home-cooked meals she lovingly prepared, always making extra in case someone stopped by for a meal. Her home was always open, and everyone who visited knew they were welcome with open arms. Joyce’s kindness, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
