Debra Syas

Debra Syas, 61, of Beatrice passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at her home. She was born in Omaha on June 20, 1964, to Robert and Sharon (Garner) Syas.  Debra had a free-spirited soul. She had an unconditional love for animals, especially horses. Her favorite song of all time was Wildfire. She enjoyed fishing and made no fuss about getting her hands dirty. She was true to herself. She had mental challenges but that didn't stop her from living life or getting an education as she made it to the 9th grade. She loved Jesus, her family, her sisters, Vicki and Linda, longtime boyfriend Jim of 23 years and his brother, Terry.

She is survived by her sisters, Vicki Herron, Linda Eckhoff; brother, Robert Syas Jr.; boyfriend, James Merritt of Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her parents.
