Rural Wymore farm victimized in copper theft

Authorities urge owners to check on properties regularly

BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s officers are investigating a theft that victimized a rural Wymore property owner, which was reported a week ago. 

A farmer with property at South 108th and East Spruce Road near Wymore, discovered a theft of copper wire from his irrigation pivot along with damage to the pivot system.

The damage and theft were discovered when the owner was doing follow-up maintenance on the equipment between January 6th and 8th.

Gage County law officers urge farmers and property owners to regularly check their fields, farms, property and buildings for any damage or suspected theft….and to report it as soon as possible.

Damage or theft can be reported to the Southeast Communications Center at 402—223—4080.
