Roger Galen Haack, born on the 11th of March, 1942, east of Elk Creek, Nebraska, passed away on the 22nd of November, 2025. Known for his compassionate and humble nature, Roger spent most of his life tirelessly serving his community. A supportive and thoughtful friend, he was always there for those in need, embodying the quote, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth." He lived on a farm near Elk Creek for 55 years, graduated from Elk Creek High School in 1959, and had worked at Campbell Soup and on the family farm for 37 Years. He resided in Beatrice, Nebraska for the past 28 years and had worked at Exmark for 8 years. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard for 6 years. Roger and Dorothy Huls were married on August 11, 1984. He was an active lifelong member of the Martin Luther Church near Johnson, NE where he was both baptized and confirmed by Reverend William Fruehling, and later attended Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Beatrice. In his retirement, Roger continued to find ways to give back, delivering meals at the Beatrice Senior Center, and providing transportation for those in need. He was also a proud member of the Elk Creek Legion, Tracy Bates Post.

 Roger is survived by his step-son, Wayne (Christine) Huls; step-daughters, Kathryn Wassil, Ginger Creel, Barbara Lawrence, and Mary (Dave) Tyckoson; 10 grandchildren Ryan (Katie) Wassil, Jessica (Mads) Ludvigsen, Katie (Austin) Singhofen, Steve Myers, Dawn (Joe) Hensel, Duane Myers, Dr, Erika (Marvin Lee) Lawrence, Nate Lawrence, Liz (Chance) Brueggemann, and Rachel Huls; several Great Grandchildren; nieces, Cheryl (Jim) Grove, Joyce (Jay) Johnson, Beverly Beethe, Elaine (Gary) Walsh, Colleen Haack, and Rhonda (Steve) Fisher; nephews, Gary Volker, Rodney (Sue) Rinne, Arlen (Karen) Bohling, and Terry (Theresa) Haack; and sister-in-law, Beulah Buis; and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Emilie (Deubler) Haack; his wife, Dorothy Haack; his sisters, Oleta Rinne, Elda Beethe, Doloma Rinne, Doloris Bohling, and Luetta Volker; his brother, Lorraine Haack; and his nephew and niece, Randall Rinne and Christine Volker.

A public visitation will be on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 1:00-8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, Nebraska, with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 PM on Tuesday, December 2, at the Martin Luther Church, R. Johnson, NE. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 2:00 PM at the same location. Those unable to attend watch the service on his memory page at www.ghchapel.com the following day. Burial will be at the church cemetery with military honors, followed by a lunch served back at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
