Steven Holliday was born on May 3, 1944, in Lewes DE, the oldest of two children of Myron and Marjorie Holliday.  He grew up in Long Island KS on a small farm.  Steven attended and graduated from Long Island High School in 1962.  Steven joined the US Navy July 26, 1962, right after graduating high school.  After basic training in San Diego CA, he spent four years active duty assigned to the USS Rowan DD-782 ship.  During his active service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Vietnam and the Good Conduct Medal Award.  He continued Naval Reserve Service until July 25, 1968, and was Honorably discharged.

Steven held several jobs throughout his lifetime all within the Ag Industry.

Steven was united in marriage to Eileen Theye on February 1, 1981, at the United Methodist church in Fairbury NE.  Steven and Eileen were married for 40 years.

Steven was a kind and humble man that never met a stranger.  He enjoyed being outdoors and especially fishing.  He loved to play cards with his friends and family as well as the comedic and interesting conversations that went with it; you could say he was a bit competitive.  He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them, proudly watching his grand and great grandchildren grow.  He loved his home in Fairbury but most especially where he came from in Long Island KS.  He was very honored to serve in the Navy and touched many lives along the way.

Steven was preceded in death by his wife Eileen & his parents, Myron and Marjorie Holliday.

Steven is survived by his children Jeff Holliday (Michelle) of Fairbury NE, Kristin Burt (Mike) of Seward NE, Stepchildren Don Theye (Christine) of Endicott NE, Bob Theye (Debbie) of Geneva, NE, and Deb Anderson (Dan) of Elkhorn NE.   His grandchildren include Austin Holliday (Sarah), Devin Holliday, Dalton Burt, Brycen Burt, Jailyn McNealy (Donovan), Makenna Schmit (Mitchell), Melanie Theye (Justin Sautter), Nick Theye, Darrin Anderson, William Anderson, & Tyler Theye.  He also leaves behind his brother Paul Holliday (Karen) of Newton, KS and 15 great grandchildren.
