BEATRICE – Seven companies have submitted bids to Gage County to build two concrete box culvert projects.

The board of supervisors opened bids Wednesday and the bids range in cost from about $540,000 up to more than $938,000.

The bids were referred to the highway department for review, with the county board scheduled to select a contractor in two weeks.

Gage County Highway Superintendent Mark Kuhnke says the projects will be constructed along Cedar Road west of Southwest 72nd…near Clatonia…and along Hickory Road west of South 134th…north of Filley.

The supervisors also approved the bid of Greenway Lawn Services for county lawn mowing and treatment, at a total cost of $6,652.

A fuel bid was rejected by the board because it arrived in county offices, beyond the bid deadline.
