Huskers buckle up for game day, after week of New York City experiences
NEW YORK CITY, NY. - Nebraska is enjoying their first bowl experience since 2016, in one of America's biggest cities.
The Huskers enjoyed a New York City Christmas ahead of this Saturday's Pinstripe Bowl, with trips to the 9/11 Memorial, the New York Knicks-San Antonio Spurs game on Christmas Day and even rang the New York Stock Exchange's morning bell on Friday.
Now the Huskers buckle in for game day and Head Coach Matt Rhule says, despite the unique bowl game experiences, the one goal remains to win.
"The message we sent to the guys is we're here to win a football game," Rhule said. "That's why the second we landed we went straight to practice... We literally drove and started and hit. That's the message since day one, we've given them some free time, done some really cool things, but at the end of the day this is an opportunity for us to finish our season."
And not only is it an opportunity to win, but get the programs first bowl win since 2015. Something Rhule called "important" for the programs next steps.
"We're playing an excellent football team, so to do that we have to play well," Rhule said. "Our team knows how to practice and how to work. We're still figuring out how to win and playing an excellent team like Boston College gives us a chance to do that."
The Eagles enter at 7-5, with the Huskers at 6-6. Kick off is set for 11:00 a.m. CT on Saturday morning on ABC.
