Local police arrest male following domestic dispute

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police arrested a male Sunday after responding to a domestic incident in the 600-block of North 8th Street.
Police spoke to two alleged victims and a male about an incident that apparently arose from a relationship dispute. Police had been to the scene earlier as a result of a domestic disturbance.
Police said there was a physical confrontation between a male and a female in the presence of a minor child.
A woman reported being slapped, tackled and choked. She sustained a chipped tooth. Police said she also had visible bruises on her arms.
Police arrested 30-year-old Dustin Shinn on suspicion of assault by strangulation, 3rd-degree domestic assault and child abuse.

In a separate matter, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and local police responded to an accident report Saturday afternoon, near the north entrance to the Beatrice Walmart Store. A 75-year-old woman was reportedly struck by a camping vehicle, just before 3:30 p.m.
The woman, who had injuries to her hands and an elbow, was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment.
