BEATRICE – A section of Nebraska Highway 4 in southeast Nebraska will be the site of road and culvert construction, starting next week.

Weather permitting, a project will begin June 10th on Highway 4 near Lewiston and Virginia, for a distance of about 12 miles. The Nebraska Department of Transportation says Constructors, Inc. of Lincoln will be doing culvert replacements and extensions and an asphalt overlay.

The spur into Lewiston will also be resurfaced. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flag workers.  A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect.

NDOT says the work…mostly in Pawnee County…should be completed in the fall.
