BEATRICE – A multi-term Beatrice City Councilman who suffered a heart attack earlier this year, returned to the council Monday night for his first meeting in several weeks.


Third Ward Councilman Rich Kerr thanked the community for their support during his recovery from surgery.


"And, the Doctors and Nurses at BCH and Bryan.....but most of all, our ambulance crew. They are professionals. They are tremendous. And, when I got up there I got to asking once I had the little surgery over with...they are very well respected in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We've got one of the finest ambulance crews and I just think we should be very proud of those guys and gals down there. They probably saved my life....so, I want to thank them, very much."


Kerr won reelection to his position on the council in November, 2020.
