Lincoln man arrested for allegedly vandalizing businesses

A man was arrested in Lincoln after he allegedly vandalized several businesses.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man was arrested in Lincoln after he allegedly vandalized several businesses.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to Farmers Mutual, 1220 Lincoln Mall, around 6:45 p.m. on April 15 for a belated vandalism report.

Officers said an employee found a broken window and looked over the security video. The employee reported that they saw an unknown man using rocks to damage the window. The reported damage done to the window was $1,500. 

Police said the suspect was a 33-year-old man that officers had contact with in the past. 

According to authorities, officers were sent to Rampark Parking Garage, 1225 P St. at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday for a vandalism report. 

Officials said an employee reported that a man, matching the description of the man from the previous vandalism, came into the garage with a metal pipe and started yelling. The suspect reportedly hit multiple walls, trash cans, and the ground.

LPD said the suspect then damaged a two-way call box that was on the north wall of 1248 O St. The call box reportedly belongs to FMA Realty and the estimated damage done was $300. 

According to authorities, UNLPD found the suspect damaging a window at Hewit Place, 1155 Q St. The damage down was reportedly estimated at $400 and the suspect was lodged in jail for three counts of criminal mischief.
