Authorities make arrest in Seward following pursuit, loaded gun and drugs found

SEWARD, Neb. -- Authorities in Seward arrested a person following a pursuit that happened Saturday.
On Thursday, the Seward County Sheriff's Office released information on a pursuit that happened in the county on Saturday.
The Sheriff's Office said a deputy with the Seward County Sheriff's Officer Interdiction Task Force tried to do a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe for numerous traffic violations.
It was reported that the vehicle failed to comply and fled heading west on Interstate 80, speeding.
Authorities said the Nebraska State Patrol and the York County Sheriff's Office were notified, and they reportedly assisted with the pursuit.
The Seward County Sheriff's Office said that spike strips were deployed near mile marker 327, resulting in three of the vehicle's tires going flat.
It was reported that the Tahoe then pulled to the shoulder near mile marker 327.
The Sheriff's Office said that a Canadian citizen was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities said that while searching the vehicle they found a loaded handgun in the center console and about 6.5 pounds of MDMA (Ecstasy).
The subject was lodged in the Seward County Jail pending further court action.
