BEATRICE – Two people were killed in an accident near Sabetha, Kansas last Wednesday, involving a vehicle struck after it had failed to yield to traffic, pulling onto a highway.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the victims were 58-year-old Rodney Sanner and 53-year-old Robin Sanner, of Sabetha.

The couple’s 2011 Nissan Rogue driven by Rodney Sanner had stopped at a stop sign eastbound on 260th Road and pulled onto U.S. Highway 75.  Their vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound 2015 Ford Pickup driven by 58-year-old Efrain Perez-Ordonez, of Grandbury, Texas.

Rodney and Robin Sanner died at the scene.  Perez-Ordonez was not injured.

Both vehicles came to rest off the southeast side of the intersection, about a half-mile southeast of Sabetha.   The KHP said the accident happened at around 5:30 p.m., last Wednesday.
