Kansas man receives over five years in prison
A man from Kansas was sentenced to over five years in prison for a meth-related charge.
By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN, Neb. -- A man from Kansas was sentenced to over five years in prison for a meth-related charge.
Acting U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said 29-year-old Westleigh Miesner, of Kansas, was sentenced in federal court in Lincoln on Friday. He was charged for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five grams or more of actual methamphetamine. Miesner will serve 66 months in prison and a four-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, a confidential informant (CI) planned to purchase one ounce of meth from co-defendant, Shanda Daniels on May 14, 2019. The CI traveled to Daniels' house at in Trenton. The CI went into the house and talked to Daniels and an unknown man. The unknown man was later identified by the CI as Miesner from a photo lineup. Miesner weighed out the meth. The lab results showed 13 grams of actual meth.
Shanda Daniels has pled guilty and is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 2, 2023.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
