Lincoln man arrested for second-degree murder

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 48-year-old man.
LPD said the homicide happened in a residence near north 65th St. and Madison Ave. on Thursday around 2:40 p.m.
Officers responded to a welfare check, where they said a caller reported a deceased individual inside a residence.
According to LPD, when officers arrived they found a 48-year-old man dead inside the residence.
A witness and 35-year-old Joshua Larsen of Lincoln were also found at the location.
Police reported that the victim and Larsen were involved in an intimate relationship.
After interviewing Larsen and witness as well as gathering additional evidence, LPD said Larsen was arrested for second-degree murder.
LPD said the investigation is in the early stages and investigators are continuing to gather and process evidence to determine a timeline of events leading up to the homicide.
The Police Department has not released the victim's name at this time to allow sufficient time for family members to be notified.
