LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department investigated a disturbance call on July 3.

LPD said officers were sent to the 1000 block of Garber Ave. in response to a call of a disturbance between neighbors at 7:05 p.m.

The report said during the investigation, probable cause was established and took 27-year-old Payne Ackerman into custody for disturbing the peace.

According to authorities, Ackerman produced a screwdriver and began threatening additional tenants of the apartment building and officers while they attempted to take Ackerman into custody.

Officers said Ackerman was finally taken into custody after the deployment of a TASER device and OC spray (pepper spray).

Officials said Ackerman was transported to an area hospital where he was medically cleared to be lodged in jail. Ackerman was cited for attempted first-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and second offense resisting arrest.
