LPD looks for man connected to Thursday morning assault

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Around 1:20 a.m., Thursday morning Lincoln Police Department said they were called to Cooper Park on a report that a party had been shot. 

Authorities said when they got to the scene, they came in contact with a 35-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to the back of his left shoulder. 

LPD said the victim said an unknown male, light complexion, tall, skinny, between 15-21 years of age with long brown hair, and pink or orange shorts, approached him in the park. 

Officials said the two engaged in a conversation that led to a disagreement, at that time the victim decided to walk away. 

According to authorities, while walking away the victim heard a pop and felt pain in his shoulder. 

Officers said they recovered two, .380 caliber shell casings at the scene.
