Former NU President Ronald Roskens dies

Monday night it was confirmed that the former University of Nebraska President Ronald Roskens has died at 89-years-old.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- It was confirmed Monday night that the former University of Nebraska President Ronald Roskens has died. 

Roskens died at the age of 89.

The news came from a tweet from the current NU President Ted Carter. 

Carter adds that Roskens was the longest-serving President of the NU System. 

Roskens was the System president from 1977 to 1989. Before that, he was Chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha for five years.
