LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln firefighters were ordered to leave a home due to dangerous conditions fighting a fire inside.

At 8:45 Friday morning, Lincoln Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the fire at 1723 S 20th St.

LFR reported heavy smoke visible from blocks away while on the way.

Upon arrival, LFR reported heavy smoke and fire from the single-story residential home. Firefighters began interior fire operations to put the fire out and experienced obstacles and difficulty moving through the home due to excessive debris making it dangerous to continue interior operations.

The incident commander ordered all firefighters out of the structure due to the conditions and to ensure firefighter safety.

The fire operations were changed to an exterior or defensive attack. One person sustained minor injuries. The blaze remains under investigation.
