SEWARD - The largest holiday light show in Nebraska calls Seward home and they’re set to open this Friday, bringing holiday cheer to Nebraskans.

Vinny Bittinger is the owner and creator of the Magical Lights of Seward.

“Basically you see here is built by my family, by us,” Bittinger said. “We don’t have any big corporations, we just do it.”

He and his family take pride in bringing holiday cheer to the area as visitors watch the show and hear some of their favorite Christmas songs, as each zone is synced to music.

The show Bittinger and his family put on is completely self-funded and they’re in their second year of business.

“I knew I liked lights. I knew I was crazy about lights and every Christmas until my wife finally just said, go all out, go crazy with it,” Bittinger aid.

And so it began. The show is located at the Seward County Fairgrounds and it features dozens of different holiday themes, with some zones shining tens of thousands of of color arrays. They also have some new things to check out this year.

“We have almost an entire show in that the music is different, every zone has something new to it that you haven’t seen before,” Bittinger said.  “The tree is new, it has almost 60,000 lights on it all by itself.”

While holiday light shows aren’t a new holiday activity, Bittinger takes pride in making their show unique.

“We don’t have a typical display like what other places may have. We have a show,” Bittinger said. “It’s completely synced by the computer to music.”

The show opens on Black Friday and is open until New Year's Eve
