OGALLALA, Neb. — The Nebraska State Patrol reported 100% compliance during alcohol inspections conducted Thursday in Keith County.

According to a news release, investigators carried out compliance checks at 10 businesses during the afternoon hours of March 19. All businesses refused to sell alcohol to a minor and properly checked identification.

The inspections included a mix of convenience stores, restaurants, bars and liquor stores.

Alcohol compliance checks are designed to ensure businesses follow state laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol to minors. The effort also aims to reduce underage drinking and promote responsible alcohol sales practices.

The project is fully funded through the Region II Human Services Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Services Block Grant. Funding is provided through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and administered by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health.

Officials say continued compliance efforts are important to maintaining public safety and preventing underage access to alcohol.
