Wheat Belt crews continue to make steady progress in restoring power following the Morrill fire.

About 20 services remain without power, primarily stock wells and irrigation services.

Wheat Belt damage assessment efforts have identified almost 200 poles impacted by the fire. As crews continue to patrol and inspect lines that have not yet been fully assessed, the number is expected to increase.

Wheat Belt crews met with operations and engineering staff today to review the current damage, prioritize restoration efforts, and coordinate the materials needed for the next phase of work. During the past two days, mutual aid crews alongside Wheat Belt crews completed a major rebuild on a five-mile stretch of line where 94 poles were replaced ... an incredible accomplishment that reflects the dedication and teamwork of everyone involved.

The Wheat Belt leadership thanked High West Energy, Midwest Electric, and Roosevelt PPD for their continued support. Their willingness to assist highlights the strength of the public power community. Wheat Belt Public Power District appreciate your patience and support as we continue this restoration effort. All of the first responders and fire fighters working this fire have our greatest appreciation.

About Wheat Belt: our mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electricity guides every decision we make. Our crews remain committed to our core values "safety, service, integrity, and teamwork" as they work diligently to restore power to all affected customers.
