LeRoy E. Ried, age 84 of Bellevue, NE (formerly Union, NE and Plattsmouth, NE) peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at his home. 

LeRoy Edward “Roy” Ried was born on February 18, 1942 at Murray, NE; the son of Gordan M. and Edna M. (Greene) Ried. 

He married Linda Lou Kearney on January 29, 1960 in Rock Port, MO.  She preceded him in death on May 10, 2021.  LeRoy was formerly a truck driver and lived in Bellevue since 1970.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing keno and having Sunday funday at the lake with his friends.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and car racing.

LeRoy is survived by his daughter Lesha Wilson (Todd) of Bellevue, NE and son Larry Ried of Bellevue, NE; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; five siblings: B.J. Ried (Sandy) and Wayne Ried (Patty) both of Nebr. City, NE; Peggy Frech (Tom) and Phyllis Erkes (Frank) both of Syracuse, NE and Judy Longwell of Omaha, NE; other family and friends.

In addition to his wife, LeRoy was preceded in death by his son LeRoy “Dusty” Ried; his parents and two sisters: Wanda Hansen and Nancy (Attebery) Green.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebr. City. Burial will follow the service at East Union Cemetery, northeast of Union, NE.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (3/13) at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebr. City. 

Marshall Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
