It is with profound sadness that the family of Patricia J. “Patti” Schroeder announce that Patti went to be with her Lord on Friday evening, December 19, 2025 at her home in Beatrice, at the age of 73. Patti was born on August 30, 1952 in Beatrice to Elmer and Emile (Wallman) Folkerts. She was both baptized (9/11/1952) and confirmed (6/26/1966) at the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. Patti was a 1970 graduate of Tri-County High School and spent most of her life in Beatrice. She and Larry Bohling were married on September 4, 1970, and later divorced. Patti married Gail Schroeder on August 20, 2022.
She had been a dedicated realtor in both Auburn and Beatrice for over 50 years. Patti was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth and had been an active member in her community in Beatrice. She enjoyed gardening, her flower beds, fishing, antique collecting and garage sales. Her family was most important to Patti, especially attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Patti is survived by her husband Gail; her children Frances (Gary) Riege of Elkhorn, Ryan (Denise) Bohling of Auburn, and Jennifer Loesch of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren Jeremy (special friend Colleen) Riege, Elizabeth (Julius) Mwale, Emily, Johnny and Auggy Bohling; step granddaughter Katie (special friend Terry) Schroeder; her brother Roger (Patty) Folkerts; her step children Martin (Veronica) Schroeder and Gina (special friend Patrick) Schroeder; brother in law Steve (Mary) Zanto; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Emile Folkerts; sisters in law Marlene Scheele and Marilyn (Richard) Freese; brothers in law Wayne (Elaine) Schroeder Allen (Elaine “Liz”) Schroeder; and nephew Scott Schroeder.
There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place. Public burial of her ashes will be at 9:45 AM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, R. Plymouth followed by her funeral service at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 106 East Hwy 4, Plymouth, Nebraska. The church will Livestream the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the church with the church elders in charge.
