BEATRICE – Beatrice Police seized a significant amount of drugs after a traffic stop of a sport utility vehicle, arresting the driver Tuesday night.  Just before nine p.m. a patrolling officer observed a black Chevrolet Tahoe westbound in the 300 block of Court with windshield tint dark enough, that the officer could not see the driver.

After pulling the driver over, the officer measured the darkness of a window with a meter…registering at six-percent, well less than the minimum 35-percent under state law.

Police also detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Two people, the driver and a passenger were inside.  Police located a black bag containing suspected marijuana between the seat and console.  Officers searched the driver, finding a micro-baggie of suspected cocaine in his pants pocket.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the driver….38-year-old Daniel S. Sullivan of Steele City, Nebraska was arrested.

Officers continuing their search of the vehicle found two mason jars with suspected marijuana, two containers that held 150 pills of suspected ecstasy.  Authorities also found a large bag of suspected cocaine, a vial of cocaine and a micro-baggie of suspected methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle.

Police said 61 grams of suspected cocaine were recovered, with a street value estimated at $7,200.  The ecstasy pills had an estimated $2,700 value….and the meth and marijuana street value was estimated at $460. Police also seized a vacuum-sealed bag with about 2.6 pounds of soil and seeds.

Daniel Sullivan was arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, possession of over one ounce, but less than a pound of marijuana, a drug dealer tax violation and the window tint violation.
