BEATRICE – Beatrice Firefighters were sent to what was reported as a trailer fire Thursday night, at around 9:30.  They were dispatched to the eleven-hundred block of Garfield Street…in an alley next to a residence.

Beatrice Fire Captain Corey Lieneman says the contents of a roll-off dumpster were on fire.   The container held household items, mainly clothing and toys…and was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  Lieneman says the fire did damage to a power line and some telephone and cable wires that connect to a home at that location.

It took just a few minutes for firefighters to douse the flames.  Officials cleared the scene at about 10:22 p.m.  No injuries were reported.
