Jacob Xavier Carpenter, known affectionately to many as Jake or Carp, was a man of many admirable qualities. Born on September 6, 1998, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jacob was a tireless worker, a loyal friend, and a thoughtful son and brother. His life, though tragically cut short on May 26, 2025, was marked by his courageous spirit, his humble manner, and his dedication to service - both in his career and personal life.

Jacob was a skilled aircraft mechanic, proficient in his craft and recognized by his peers as Air Frame Tech 3. He worked diligently in the Air Aviation industry, but the sky wasn't the only place where Jacob soared. He served his country with honor and bravery as an aviation systems mechanic in the United States Navy, earning several decorations including the Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal among others. His courage and commitment were a testament to his character and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jacob had a vibrant life marked by his love for sports, the great outdoors, and the company of friends and family. A dedicated athlete, he played football and basketball through high school, and was an avid fisher, hunter, and golfer. Jacob was a man who never met a stranger and valued his relationships above all else.

He is survived by his mother, Angie Waller (Ken Wegner); his father, Tim Carpenter; sisters, Ashley Waller (significant other Kyle Johnson), Alexsis Carpenter (significant other Spencer Radke), Kate (Caleb) Nesbitt, and Karly Wegner; brother, Keegan (Kami) Wegner; nieces and nephews, Oliver, Barrett, Dax, Elijah, Jhett, Wyatt, Colt, Isaiah, Sofia, and Walker; grandmother, Donna Waller; aunts and uncles, Nikkie (Todd) Shallenberger; Xavier Waller; and Tyler Brown; cousins, Blake Shallenberger, Trenten Dolezal, Abe Dolezal, Preston Waller, and Kinsley Waller; the Wegner family; and a host of extended family and friends.   He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald "Jake" Waller.
