Tents are in place, final details underway for 2025 Cattlemen's Ball, near Blue Springs

BEATRICE – With the Cattlemen’s Ball set to be held near Blue Springs in about a week, the Gage County Board has approved a special liquor permit in conjunction with a wine-tasting event at the annual benefit for cancer research.

Native 32 Winery LLC of West Point, Nebraska sought the permit for an event to be held June 7th, at the Terry and Bev Acton farm. Ann Dohmen of Lincoln is a coordinator for the wine-tasting event.

"We also have Tall Tree Tastings (of Beatrice) is going to be participating...and then we have a few wineries from California. It will be a good representation of some Nebraska wines, for the event."

Gage County Emergency Manager Lisa Wiegand says the county and emergency jurisdictions are working with organizers of the Cattlemen’s Ball on final details.

"We met with the boundary jurisdictions of the fire districts. In driving out to the site, Blue Springs looks great...all the communities are really getting ready to showcase their communities. I think Gage County should be really proud of the effort everybody is making in addition to the volunteers who are coming forward."

All of the tents are in place and Wiegand said security is now on site for the June 6th and 7th Cattlemen’s Ball.
