BEATRICE – A Beatrice Police Officer who noticed a vehicle run a red light at 6th and High in the overnight hours, conducted a pursuit of the driver that ended with the arrest of a 32-year-old woman on her birthday.

The officer was stationed near 6th and High Streets when a white sport utility vehicle approached the intersection southbound, and failed to stop at the traffic signal.  The S-U-V accelerated at a high rate of speed as the officer turned around to stop the driver.

The officer got behind the white Ford Edge and turned east onto Market Street, pursuing the driver.  The officer said the vehicle ran three red lights, ran four stop signs, made an improper turn, and traveled at speeds up to 60-to-70 miles per hour in residential zones with speed limits of 25 to 35 miles-per-hour.

The driver eventually stopped in the 14-hundred block of North 11th…where a white female exited the vehicle, fleeing on foot behind a residence. The officer detained a male passenger and spoke with two witnesses…gaining consent to search a home. A Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy reported he had found a female in the closet of a room in the residence.

Police arrested 32-year-old Jessica See, who was found to have a suspended Oklahoma driver’s license and no valid Nebraska license.

See was arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest and having no operator’s license.
