Ronald E. Kapustka
Ronald E. Kapustka, 77, of Beatrice passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center of Omaha. He was born on April 14, 1947, in Ord, NE to Edward and Florence (Golka) Kapustka. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1966, Ron then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was especially proud that he served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V and Combat Action Ribbon and attained the rank of Sergeant. After being discharged from active duty in 1969, he returned to Beatrice where he met the love of his life, Judi Theasmeyer. They were married on July 17, 1970, and had two sons, Tim and Tony.
Ron worked at Oldfathers OK Tire Store before working at Northern Natural Gas Company for 31 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially Judi, hunting, woodworking, Husker football and volleyball, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is survived by his wife, Judi of Beatrice; sons, Tim Kapustka of Lincoln, Tony (Abbey) Kapustka of Omaha; grandchildren, Dylan Kapustka of Lincoln, Holden and Hanna Kapustka of Omaha; brother, Mike (Martha Young) Kapustka of Wymore; brothers-in-law, Bob (Mary) Theasmeyer of Gothenburg, John Scholl of Beatrice, Mike Eisenhauer of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Sharon Kapustka of Lincoln and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence; sisters, Darlene Kapustka, Lorraine Eisenhauer; brother, Bob Kapustka; parents-in-law, Herb and Helen Theasmeyer; sister-in-law, Sherri Scholl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beatrice with Father Leo Kosch as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice with military rites conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. A Scriptural Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Closed casket visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until 6:15 P.M. with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:15 P.M. at the funeral home.
