Clutch shooting lifts Scottsbluff to road win in season opener
NORFOLK - Scottsbluff withstood torrid shooting from Norfolk in the first half, outlasting the Panthers late in a 57-49 win on Friday.
Norfolk couldn't miss from deep early, hitting six of seven from beyond the three-point line in the first half.
But the shooting went cold - with Norfolk missing their final eight three-pointers - and the Bearcats started forcing turnovers in the second half...pulling away in the fourth quarter.
It was the first meeting between the former conference rivals since 2015, and the first time Scottsbluff had beaten Norfolk since 2008.
