LINCOLN – A southern Lancaster County town will be seeing a communications upgrade starting soon.

ALLO Fiber plans to start construction in Hickman on a fiber-to-the-home project…using city right-of-way and easements.  The project will upgrade internet, telephone and television services…and allow access to managed services and cybersecurity services.

Hickman City Administrator Kelly Oelke says the city is entering into a broadband franchise agreement with ALLO Fiber.   The Nebraska-based business has been expanding to communities since 2003 and has won awards for provider service in cities such as Lincoln, Fremont, Grand Island and Kearney.

ALLO Regional General Manager Dave Miller said the company is excited to bring fiber services and advanced technology to residents and businesses in Hickman and had received several requests over the years to serve the community.
