BEATRICE – Street work next to a new restaurant being built in Beatrice means some temporary traffic changes.

Beatrice City officials say construction work is starting on the northeast corner of 6th & Monroe Street, including the installation of new curb and gutter, a ramp, and a drive for the Jimmy John's Restaurant location.

Officials say a turn lane on Monroe Street will be closed and one lane of traffic on 6th Street will be affected.  The work is expected to last up to one week.
