BEATRICE – A National Park west of Beatrice is having work done on its parking area at an education center.

The lot at the Homestead National Historical Park is fenced off as construction crews are resurfacing the parking area.

A park spokesman says the work will take several weeks and there will be only limited access to the lot for visitors.  There will be no capacity for oversized vehicles such as buses, campers or recreational vehicles.

Visitors can still use the parking lots at the nearby Freeman School or at the Heritage Center, at the east boundary of the park.
